International professional education and career development college, based in Central London are currently looking for an experienced Copywriter to oversee content across all digital marketing communication channels and printed literature.
Your remit will be to ensure that a high standard of factually correct content is produced that will engage with the audience.
The role combines web editing activities such as writing fresh copy and updating elements of the website as well as writing all printed marketing material.
You will be responsible for managing the content production process from start to finish and enforcing high editorial standards across all of digital properties.
This will also include responsibility for photography, imagery, infographics, video and audio.

The successful candidate may have experience in B2B journalism or in commodities markets but will want to focus on gaining a deep understanding of the working of key global commodity markets and particularly on price and price discovery.
The main responsibilities are covering two global fertilizer markets, and the candidate will have the opportunity to become the authority on their given field, through interaction with market sources and customers. The candidate will therefore need to feel comfortable communicating with a range of international contacts from different countries and backgrounds, mainly at upper management level. This will require perseverance and a good telephone manner as well as the ability to maintain and build new relationships in order to maintain and enhance the quality of the information gathered. Networking with sources will require some travel to industry conferences.
A high level of energy and commitment are required for this job!
A background in fertilizers, metals, petrochemicals, oil and gas or other related commodities and/or shipping would be an advantage to understanding the fertilizer markets. Strong analytical skills as well as an experience or understanding of economics or commodities markets is essential. A degree in economics, science, journalism or languages is preferred, but not essential.
As analysis and report writing are the main part of the job, a high command of the English language is a must if the candidate’s mother tongue is not English. Fluency in Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese or Russian are an advantage, but not essential.
The job is full-time and based at our headquarters in London near Kings Cross/Chancery Lane/Russell Square/Farringdon tube stations.

Website: Uploading and laying out articles in CMS; tagging to ensure web optimisation; sourcing/adding hyperlinks to internal/external articles; adapting and placing charts/pics, plus captioning where appropriate/necessary; monitoring search-engine pick-up of content; managing PE social networks (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Email: Preparing, proofing and sending weekly email bulletins; adding / prioritising new email content; selecting lead article; writing the email content line; monitoring email delivery and open rates.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the brand’s ongoing improvement and development, alongside other members of the team.
Required skills:
- Experience in a similar production role, working across print and online, ideally in a b2b environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills and an ability to manage the daily / weekly / monthly workflow independently.
- Strong IT skills, including excellent knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Quark, Acrobat and Photoshop plus Word and Excel and experience of using an online content management system.
- A good understanding of print processes (litho and digital).
- A thorough knowledge of UK libel law.
- Ability to get to grips quickly with the energy sector and PE’s editorial coverage, as well as keeping up-to-date with market developments.
- Prior knowledge of the energy / oil & gas market would be an advantage.

This vacancy is for a content curator for the Global News Hub for co-operatives website: www.thenews.coop, which brings together content from co-operatives around the world on one platform. This is managed by the UK-based Co-operative News, the 140-year-old newspaper for co-operatives.
As well as creating original content, you will also be the main administrator for the website and be responsible for many things including moderating comments to taking our social media strategy to the next level.
The United Nations has designated 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives and co-operatives are big business, which represent a billion people across the world. They also touch many areas of society that are extremely relevant today including fair trade, renewable energy, global poverty and finance.
Responsibilities:
- Have a keen eye for the best stories to promote on the website and social networks and the printed Co-operative News
- Moderate website content, comments and social network channels
- Create original content around themes, and respond to fast-happening topical events
- Other relevant work as required
Requirements:
- Communications or journalism background
- Research and write compelling stories, which will include interviewing people and attending conferences and events
- Execute searches and research across many sources, including Google and social networks
- Find new sources of content, such as blogs, co-operative websites and other hard-to-find websites
- Form partnerships with content creators
- First-hand experience with managing, publishing and engaging users across social networks
- Organised, with attention to detail and working to tight deadlines and fast turnaround
- To routinely collect feedback and provide monthly statistics on the performance of the website; and social media initiatives (ie. visitor numbers, identify poorly performing areas of the website etc…)
- Must be able to create and format spreadsheets
- Understanding of basic HTML and foundation-level web technologies, such as RSS
- Ability to learn and understand new technologies
Desirable, but not essential:
- Fluency in writing or speaking foreign languages (French/Spanish preferable)
- Knowledge and a passion for co-operatives
- Experience and knowledge of data visualisation tools to create content such as infographics, maps, charts and diagrams.
- Understanding of a website statistics tool such as Google Analytics
- Multimedia experience (know how to use a camera for video/photography or format video/audio for the web)
